IRAKLI ALASANIA: ARMENIAN-GEORGIAN RELATIONS ARE PRIORITY FOR GEORGIA

Armenian-Georgian relations are priority for the Georgian government,
and play an important role in ensuring regional security, Georgian
Defense Minister Irakli Alasania told a press conference in Tbilisi
on July 17 following a meeting with his Armenian counterpart Seyran
Ohanyan who is in Georgia on an official visit, the press service of
Armenian Defense Ministry reported.
"I would like to thank the Armenian Defense Minister for accepting our
invitation. I would like to mention that the Georgian and Armenian
peoples are linked together by historical, friendly and brotherly
relations. Today we discussed bilateral cooperation and agreed to
develop it according to the plan we adopted in 2013. We also spoke
of the priorities of our two countries for 2014," said Irakli Alasania.
Seyran Ohanyan, for his part, said that they had discussed security
issues in the South Caucasus.
"Armenia and Georgia are linked together by centuries-old friendship.
I believe that this base will give certain impetus to the development
of relations between our two countries in the area of defense,"
Seyran Ohanyan said.
