YEREVAN, JULY 30, ARMENPRESS: The information spread by some
Azerbaijani media according to which Human Rights and international
relations committee of Ukrainian Parliament offered the speaker to
refuse putting into discussion the bill recognizing Armenian genocide
is an attempt of introducing wishes as reality. "Armenpress" reports
making a reference on Analitika website that historian Maxim Tsarenko
had mentioned that we should understand that it is about a bill the
discussion of which is implemented in parliamentary committee which
refused the role of main actor and suggested this status to committee
of external affairs.
"Especially surprising is information by authors about withdrawal
of the bill," mentioned Tsarenko. In his words history of Ukrainian
parliament knows many bills which did not get status of discussing
bill in one committee but were supported by several other committees
and later was adopted.
Ukrainian Parliament on June 6 registered a bill about recognizing
Armenian genocide. The authors of the bill are deputies Vilen
Shatvoryan and Arsen Avakov. The initiative was supported by Armenian
ministry of foreign affairs.
