President of the Control Chamber Ishkhan Zakaryan is speaking about
abuses and misuse of government expenditures, ignoring the huge
sums spent on his gorgeous mansion, opposition MP Nikol Pashinyan
said during today's parliamentary hearing on the activities of the
Control Chamber.
"Nine months ago, Ishkhan Zakaryan was giving a report in the
parliament about the abuses of others and today, nine months later,
he is doing the same," Pashinyan said.
Then he commented on the response of Parliament Speaker Hovik
Abrahamyan, who, in reply to Zakaryan's findings in the sphere of
construction, said that all looters should be punished. "During
the 20 years of his tenure in office, Abrahamyan became one of the
largest land owners in Armenia. Today he is seeking for the looters
who plundered the country and cannot, in any way, find them."
Pashinyan also speak about Republican MP Vardan Ayvazyan who was
involved in a major corruption scandal, when he held the position
of the Minister of Environment. Today the MP demands that looters
be disclosed and punished. "The same is true about Prime Minister
Tigran Sargsyan who, after being implicated in an off-shore scandal,
is wasting no time in speaking about the need to combat corruption,"
said Pashinyan.
"Judging by the aforesaid I can conclude that out government pursues
a dubious policy; being corrupt it struggles against corruption and
illegitimacy. In March 2008, they killed their compatriots and today
they want to reveal these killings, they force people to emigrate from
the country and at the same time they fight against emigration...They
seem to be testing people's patience," said the opposition MP.
