RAFFI HOVANISIAN FILES LAWSUIT AGAINST CENTRAL ELECTORAL COMMISSION

YEREVAN.- Former presidential candidate, leader of Heritage Party Raffi
Hovanisian filed a lawsuit to the Administrative Court of Armenia to
appeal inaction of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC).
Hovanisian demands that CEC decision must be annulled and obliges to
include the cost of maintaining more than 1,600 election headquarters
and manufacturing campaign posters into campaign expenditures of
presidential candidate Serzh Sargsyan.
The day of the meeting has not yet been appointed.
Hovannisian has not recognized his defeat and is holding mass
protests calling to announce election results invalid. According to
official results, Serzh Sargsyan won elections in the first round,
getting 58.64 percent (861,373 votes). Head of Heritage Party Raffi
Hovannisian was the second with 36.75 percent of voters (539,693).
