IN ARTSAKH FOREIGNERS ARE PARTICULARLY INTERESTED IN SHUSHI AND TIGRANAKERT

YEREVAN, MARCH 7, ARMENRPESS. The tourism is among the most developed
branches in the Nagorno Karabakh Republic and is considered to be
one of the strategically significant directions. In a conversation
with "Armenpress" the Deputy Head of the Tourism Department of the
Government of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Artak Grigoryan stated that
the number of the tourists increase each year. Their number increased
for 40 percent in 2012 reaching 15 thousand. Artak Grigoryan noted:
"Tourists from Russia, Italy, Germany, and many other countries visit
Nagorno Karabakh. 800-900 tourists stop in the Stepanakert hotel
each day during the summer, and it even becomes difficult to find
free rooms in the hotel." According to him tourists are particularly
interested in Shushi and Tigranakert.
The Chairman of the Armenian Association of Travel Agents Simon
Khachatryan noted there are all conditions in Artsakh to attract
tourists. Among other things Simon Khachatryan noted: "There is a
remarkable nature in Nagorno Karabakh, also one can see a number of
monuments and temples in Artsakh, which can attract tourists from
any country. And the marvelous Karabakh cuisine plays a significant
role too. These are the most important factors, which are necessary
for the development of tourism and one can see these all in Artsakh."
