RUSSIA NOT FORWARDING ALTERNATIVE TO ARMENIA, WHILE EU SAYS 'EITHER WE OR THEY' - ASHOT MANUCHARYAN

Russia's authorities have not put a choice in front of Armenian
authorities and offered to become both member of the Customs Union
and be engaged in the European Union integration programs.
Former member of the Karabakh Committee Ashot Manucharyan voiced
opinion that instead Russia will supply gas with interior-Russian
prices for Armenia.
Ashot Manucharyan said taking into consideration the war between the
West and Russia for Armenia it becomes clear that each powerful force
comes here with its package of demands.
"There is one difference in these packages with the Russian being
more perceivable in respect that they offered be a member of Customs
Union and be engaged in the European Union's works in a format of a
resolution, while the EU which does not offer membership to Armenia
says 'no', 'either we or they," he said.
Manucharyan said our political forces are trying to confuse us, but
the majority of them are pro-western, supporters of the European
direction with the only reason of it being the essentially larger
amount of finance, technological literacy of Europe as compared
with Russia. "Thus, it is not a political issue, they are circles
fighting for economic sources and are ready for everything for it. We
knew that the oligarchs are so and the political forces are less so,
while they are doing just the same," Manucharyan said.
In case of Russia, the speaker also pointed out Armenia's security
guarantee factor. "The security guarantee by Russia is the most
reliable. Britain has been speaking about security recently. It
was fantastic. Today a number of papers are speaking about Britain,
while it is the country that has created a new genocide machine in
our neighborhood. A Baku regime has been created in our neighboring
territory that has formed an anti-Armenian machine. We must believe
our eyes and not ears. Britain, Israel and the USA are the first
responsible for it with Britain being the first. What guarantees can
they speak of?" Manucharyan said.
He also criticized Russia for selling A310 jets to Azerbaijan, which
he says, proves that Russia is not the same any more.
