EXPERT: ANTI-ARMY SENTIMENTS GROWING IN AZERBAIJAN
Tuesday,
March 26
"Anti-army sentiments in Azerbaijani society have grown, turning into
anti-government sentiments," the military expert David Jamalian said
at the meeting with reporters today.
In his words, there is growing disconnect with the army among the
public. "Ethnic minorities such as Lezgins, Talyshs and others suffer
more and more casualties in the army. Azerbaijani authorities are
trying to set these peoples and their natural allies- the Armenians
against each other," David Jamalian said.
He noted that the Aliyev clan has done nothing to prevent such negative
phenomena in the army.
The expert said Azerbaijan is an artificial state formation where it is
impossible to set up a single society, partly because of inter-ethnic
and enter-community tensions within Azerbaijani society.
