    11:44, 27 March, 2013

YEREVAN, MARCH 27, ARMENPRESS: The Armenian EyeCare Project (AECP)
facilitated the first video-conference between Children's Hospital
of Los Angeles (CHLA) and Armenian neonatologists. As (AECP) informed
Armenpress, this was initiated in the framework of USAID/AECP program
"Center of Excellence for Prevention Childhood Blindness" to establish
online training courses for neonatal specialists of Armenia.

RA Chief Anesthesiologist and Resuscitator, Dr. Hrant Kalenteryan,
Head of the NICU at the Republican Institute of Reproductive Health,
Perinatology, Obstetrics, and Gynecology, Dr. Serine Meliksetyan,
and their colleagues represented Armenia. Dr. Thomas Lee, Director
of the Retinal Service, clinical nurse specialists Sharon Fichera
and Nancy McNeill, and CHLA program administrator Cassandra Fink
represented Children's Hospital of Los Angeles.

The video-call participants outlined the content and the methods of
the upcoming online training. There are already six lectures prepared
for neonatal nurses to be broadcasted online. The online trainings
will become regular, helping Armenian neonatal specialists in their
work and prevention of childhood blindness.
