ARMENIANS KIDNAPPED IN ALEPPO

YEREVAN, MARCH 27, ARMENPRESS. Several cases of kidnapping the
Armenians have been recorded in Aleppo during the current week. Two
Armenians have been kidnapped from Aleppo's distant region of Shayef.
Shayef is considered to be a business region. The Press Secretary of
the Armenian National Prelacy of Aleppo Jirair Reisian stated this
in a conversation with "Armenpress". In addition he underscored that
the kidnappers demand ransom to set free the Armenians.
As to the general situation in the city, Reisian said that it has
already been six days since the city is almost entirely deprived of
electricity. The issue of water is also of a high concern.
No accidents have been recorded in the Armenian districts during the
recent days, although the same insecure and uncertain atmosphere
reigns in the city. The Press Secretary of the Armenian National
Prelacy of Aleppo Jirair Reisian stated: "Notwithstanding the people
keep living in the present difficult circumstances looking forward
to positive changes."
Among other things the Press Secretary touched upon the issue of the
Armenians, who were kidnapped previously, and said that they have no
information about them yet.
In accordance with the UN data clashes lasting for already two years
in Syria caused death of over 70 thousand people, including more than
four dozens Armenians.
