We must respect heroes by building the state- opposition MP
16:03 - 09.05.13
We must pay homage to the deceased heroes of the Nagorno-Karabakh war
by our efforts to accomplish the state, says Stepan Demirchyan, a
lawmaker of the opposition Armenian National Congress.
Congratulating the Armenians on the Shushi Liberation Day and the
anniversary of the Soviet Army's victory over fascism in the Great
Patriotic War, the opposition MP called for state efforts to ensure a
dignified life for its citizens.
`The state has to take a special care of the families of deceased
freedom fighters, the [heroes] who acquired disabilities after the
war, and the veterans. The situation cannot be considered favorable in
that respect, to say the least,' he told reporters in Yerevan's
Liberty Park.
Demirchyan, who is also the leader of the People's Party of Armenia,
said a key problem in the country is to ensure welfare for the
population.
`The [efforts] to suspend the migration - which has assumed dangerous
scales - should be the first thing to do,' he said.
