Support to residents of Armavir initiative group has been established
to help the farmers of hail-stricken communities.
Speaking to reporters today, the head of the initiative Nare Grigoryan
said that on May 18 they are going to Armavir village and help the
farmers.
"We will depart on Saturday morning. People may go there on train,
mini-van... Let's offer our help to the farmers, help them with the land
works. We will do what they want. Do not save these 500 drams and join
us," she said.
She said almost a week has passed since the hail damaged the lands but
the government is not doing any real step. "Nothing is being done,
nothing is being initiated only the damages are being calculated and
it is done due to their interest. The government says they will send
fertilizers, seeds, but what seeds - sunflower, corn seeds but people
have lost grape, tomato, eggplant," she said.
Nare Grigoryan noted that their goal is for the people to go and see
the disaster the farmers face and share their pain. "I was there and I
saw people's pain. I was very excited. A person of 50, with eyes full
of tears, does not know what to do," she said.
