Protest action against President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan continues
near PACE building in Strasbourg.
To recall, a group of France-based Armenians went on a three-day
sit-down strike during the Armenian President's visit to Strasbourg.
Gala TV channel quotes journalists Lilit Simonyan as saying that some
Armenian politicians in France are disappointed with the President's
decision to join the Customs Union and must be willing to express
their protest by means of this strike.
To note, the atmosphere is tense not only outside PACE session, but
inside as well. In particular, Armenian opposition MP Zaruhi Postanjyan
asked Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan at PACE on Wednesday how he
paid the 70mln EUR he has recently lost in a casino in Europe. Sargsyan
replied he has never been in a casino and does not play gambling games.
