ARMENIA TO TRIPLE WINE PRODUCTION BY 2020
YEREVAN, October 3. /ARKA /. Armenian wineries are expected to triple
wine production by 2020, Hayk Mirzoyan, head of Industry Development
Fund, told a news conference today.
According to him, in the first six months of this year wine production
surged by 42.4 % to 2.4 billion drams. He said these numbers inspire
hope that the wineries will succeed in tripling wine production in
7 years.
He said export of Armenian wines largely to Russia, other CIS
countries; Europe and the United States also surged by 56 percent
from the year before to 790 million drams.
According to the National Statistical Service, in the first eight
months of this year wine production saw a 33 percent rise year-on-year
