ARMENIA'S ACCESSION TO CUSTOMS UNION NOT TO AFFECT KARABAKH - POLITICAL ANALYST
October 07, 2013 | 22:14
YEREVAN. - Armenia's accession to the Customs Union will not affect
the situation over Karabakh, Russian political analyst said.
Anatoly Tsyganok, head of the Russian Center of Military Forecasts,
commented for Armenian News-NEWS.am on possible opening of the
checkpoint on the border between Armenia and Karabakh if Yerevan
joins the Russia-led block.
"It is a tough question. I do not think that the status quo will
change. The NKR [Nagorno-Karabakh Republic] has not been recognized,
and most likely everything will remain as it is," he said.
Earlier, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Georgi
Kalamanov said the issue on checkpoint between Armenia and Karabakh
has not been clarified yet.
