Membership of Customs Union will reduce level of Armenia's shadow economy

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 11, ARMENPRESS. The membership of the Customs Union
will reduce the level of Armenia's economy to be in the shadow. The
head of the Union of Local Manufacturers of Armenia Vazgen Safaryan
mentioned about it at the talk with the journalists on October 11.
According to him, the shadow component in the economy of our country
is around 35 percent. Safaryan believes that the Government will
demonstrate sufficient will for the reduction of the shadow economy.
`Being a member of the Customs Union will promote the implementation
of fair tax policy, as not to put the burden on small and medium
business, which are more vulnerable,' said the head of the Union of
Local Manufacturers of Armenia, Vazgen Safaryan, adding that entering
the Costumes Union, the Republic of Armenia will admit co-economic
laws and will implement new approaches to the issues of tax and
customs policy.
