POLICEMAN ACCEPTS $50,000 BRIBE TO CONCEAL CIRCUMSTANCES OF CASE

The Special Investigation Service (SIS) of Armenia opened a criminal
case under the RA Criminal Code's Article 311 part 4 point 4, based
on the report of citizen G.S.
The SIS website says that during the investigation of the criminal
case opened in connection with the death of that citizen's son in a
car crash in the city of Gyumri on November 5, 2010, the former head
of the Shirak regional department of the Armenian police accepted
a bribe of $50,000 from the father of the accused person in order
to distort and conceal of the factual circumstances of the case,
write a distorted report and allow the accused to escape punishment.
An investigation is underway.
