PRESIDENT SARGSYAN MEETS THE CHIEF OF THE GENERAL STAFF OF THE HELLENIC NATIONAL DEFENSE

President Serzh Sargsyan received today the Chief of the Hellenic
National Defense General Staff, general Michail Kostarakos, President's
Press Office reported.
The President of Armenia welcomed the guest to our country and
expressed confidence that the visit of the Chief of the Hellenic
National Defense General Staff will give a new impetus to the strong
bilateral friendly Armenian-Greek relations which are based on
the historical and cultural traditions. Noting that after Armenia's
independence the Armenian-Greek relations have been developing upward,
Serzh Sargsyan said that the two countries have formed active dialogue
and close cooperation in the military, cultural and educational areas.
According to the President, visits such as this one testify to the
continuity of the bilateral relations and readiness of the parties
to give them new quality.
The parties stressed also the importance of interparliamentary
diplomacy in the strengthening of the Armenian-Greek relations,
development of decentralized cooperation between Armenia and Greece, as
well as common approaches to the different issues of the international
agenda.
The interlocutors concurred that potential of the Armenian-Greek
cooperation is much more than that and it is necessary to fully
utilize it.
