Armenian FM meets with UN Sec Gen

Armenian FM Edward Nalbandian, who is participating in the 68th
session of the UN General Assembly, held a meeting on Saturday with UN
Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.
Ban Ki-moon commended Armenian diplomacy's involvement in
international processes. The sides discussed the Syria crisis.
Minister Nalbandian noted that Armenia has hosted over 10,000 Armenian
refugees from Syria.
The sides also welcomed the UN Security Council resolution on Syrian
chemical weapons and stressed the importance of efforts to find a
peaceful settlement of the conflict.
The sides also discussed the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process and the
efforts exerted by Armenia and by the international community to find
a peaceful settlement of the conflict.
In the context of Armenia's chairmanship of the Council of Europe
(CE), Minister Nalbandian noted that the UN and the CE are Armenia's
key partners in protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms,
struggle against xenophobia and intolerance.
