- Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan said on Saturday that Armenia
had met over 70% of its commitments, mentioned in the "road map"
for entering the Customs Union. Other commitments are also being met.
"Today, we have a clear working agenda and a roadmap for Armenia's
accession to the Customs Union that are in the process of being
implemented," the Armenian president told an economic forum, "Armenia-
Customs Union: Opportunities and Challenges."
"Active cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Community and relevant
bodies in Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus have made it possible for
us to make substantial progress on this way," Sargsyan stressed,
adding that signing an international legal document and Armenia's
direct participation in international economic processes would be
the next step.
"Economic integration substantially expands opportunities for the
country's development. Our decision to join the Customs Union proceeds
from realization of this fact," Sargsyan stressed.
