His Holiness Aram I Receives the Representatives of the Coptic and
    Syriac Orthodox Patriarchs

Antelias - On Tuesday 5 August 2014, Metropolitan Bishoy of Damiette,
Coptic Orthodox Church, and Metropolitan George Saliba of Mount Lebanon,
Syriac Orthodox Church, met with His Holiness Aram I in Bikfaya at his
summer residence. Archbishop Nareg Alemezian, the Pontifical Vicar of
the Diocese of Cyprus, and Rt. Rev. Housig Mardirossian, the Ecumenical
    Officer, were also present.

The meeting focused on the current situation in the Middle East,
particularly the situation of Christians in Iraq and cooperation between
the three ancient Churches. They also discussed issues arising from the
theological discussions of the Oriental Orthodox family with other
    Churches.

The Anglican Communion-Oriental Orthodox Dialogue International
Commission Meets at the Catholicosate of Cilicia in Antelias (Lebanon)

Antelias - On 6 August 2014, His Holiness Aram I met with the Officers
of the Commission: Co-Presidents Archbishop Geoffrey Rowell and
Metropolitan Bishoy, and Co-Secretaries Archbishop Nareg Alemezian and
Rev. Canon Dr. Alyson Barnett-Cowan; the Ecumenical Officer, Rt. Rev.
    Housig Mardirossian, also attended.

The Co-Presidents briefed Catholicos Aram I on the outcomes of their
two-day meeting and discussed priorities for the next period. His
Holiness welcomed their conclusions and proposed that in view of the
historical ties between the Anglican and Oriental Churches, it was
important, along with Christology and ecclesiology, to discuss moral and
ethical issues that are creating divisions within the churches and the
    ecumenical movement.
