YEREVAN. - Haykakan Zhamanak daily spoke with Ukraine's First
Ambassador to Armenia, Alexander Bozhko. Below is an excerpt from the
interview.
`There are views that Russiawants to maintain power in the region and
puts the pressure method into action for that. What do you think? Will
Russia succeed in achieving its goal?
`It seems to me that by putting pressure on Armenia and Ukraine,
Russia solely slowed down these countries' course leading to Europe.
[But] you cannot rotate the laws of social development backward,
return to the former USSR alternative, which has depleted itself,
since Russia's economic and technological resources will not be enough
for it. Unfortunately, we, together with you again, are appearing in
the `gray zone,' albeit European integration could have given our
countries the necessary economic development dynamics and the social
development prospects.'
