Armenia will not be entered into Eurasian Union without Azerbaijan - analyst

YEREVAN. - If it continues like this, Armenia will not join the
Eurasian Economic Union (EaEU); no one will accept Armenia to where
Azerbaijan will not be, political scientist Manvel Sargsyan
toldArmenian News-NEWS.am.
In his conviction, even the opposite may occur and Azerbaijan would
join EaEU, but Armenia would not.
"We see that even Armenia's authorities have no idea about the
specific problems because of which the country's EaEU accession is
being delayed; this is somewhat bizarre," Sargsyan noted.
In the analyst's view, Azerbaijan's--rather than Armenia's--accession in
EaEU is more important for Russia.
"There are also other problems. [The other two EaEU members]
Kazakhstan and Belarus don't share Russia's proposals for the
Ukrainian issue. In fact, even the union's founding countries fail to
agree on specific matters. [So,] now, what can be said about the other
countries?" Manvel Sargsyan concluded.
Even though Armenia's Eurasian Economic Union accession document was
expected to be signed on Tuesday, July 1, the process is deferred
indefinitely.
