HAYKAKAN ZHAMANAK: ARMENIA'S ENERGY MINISTRY FORECASTS HIKE IN GAS PRICES

The Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources is said to be having
serious concerns over a possible hike in the natural gas prices.
Though the tariffs were to remain unchanged under the agreement signed
last year, there is reportedly a reservation saying that the price
is directly linked to the domestic market developments in Russia.
Hence in case the domestic prices surge in Russia, it will affect
the natural gas supply prices for Armenia, says the paper, adding
that the Ministry is now afraid the country will ttry to partially
compensate the financial losses in its oil-gas complex (caused by
the sharp decline in oil prices) by raising the prices for gas.
