Ionisyan: Price growth inevitable after entry into EEU
Saturday, November 15, 2014
A growth in prices is inevitable after Armenia's entry into the
Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), the program coordinator of Informed
Consumers' Union Daniel Ionisyan told reporters today.
"Prices of 700 types of goods will go up. It is only a matter of time.
Some believe that the price growth will start in January 2019," he
said, noting that among the goods whose prices will increase are
granulated sugar, butter, oil, pork, poultry, clothing, cosmetics.
Commenting on the Russian military base located in Gyumri, D. Ionisyan
said it is incomprehensible who the Russian base protects Armenia from
and how it protects. In his words, Russia showed how useful the
Crimean military base was for Ukraine. "The recent events are graphic
demonstration of that," he noted.
