Armenia's armed forces are always efficient enough to react to
Azerbaijani violence, the leader of the volunteers' union Yerkrapah
(Defender of Land) has said, commenting on the Nagorno-Karabakh
defense forces' special military operations.
"The Armenian armed forces are always ready to teach a lesson to
Askyars [muslim fighters]. The Armenian army proved yet another time
that it is efficient and capable to performing its duties, and bears a
full responsibility of the developments," General Manvel Grigoryan
told Tert.am.
The Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Army's subdivisions launched special
operations earlier on Saturday to access the crash site of the downed
MI-24 helicopter to pick up the crewmembers' bodies and resolve the
circumstances of the incident.
The aircraft was hit near the Line of Contact last Wednesday in an
apparent violation of ceasefire by Azerbaijan. The crewmembers whose
remains were recovered from wreckage were Major Sergey Sahakyan,
Senior lieutenant Sargis Nazaryan and Lieutenant Azat Sahakyan. All
three were honored with posthumous awards.
The general extended his condolences and solidarity with the families
of the deceased, expressing his sorrow for the tragic incident. "You
are heroes if you are able to withstand your grief. Your children died
for their fatherland. They are from now on the Armenian nation's sons.
Such people never die; they become immortal," he said.
